Our Walls

Welcome to Knoxville's original climbing facility—featuring lead, toprope, autobelay, and bouldering areas. Beyond the climbing wall, utilize our training equipment, rent gear (harnesses, belay devices, shoes, and chalk), or host a private party in our outdoor or upstairs spaces.

Bouldering

8 unique sections of boulder-able wall, including a topout boulder reminiscent of the classic outdoor climbs in the region. Reset sectionally on the weekly.

Toprope and Autobelay

14 interchangeable topropes and 4 autobelays reaching over 37' in height. Fresh routes are set frequently!

Steep lead climbing area featuring roughly 6 quickdraws per route. Accessible by certification or lead class only.

Our History

The Climbing Center was formed in 1997, the first in the area and one of the few in the south at that time. Shortly thereafter, the High School Climbing League was formed; it was the first in the nation! At the time, climbing was not a “letter sport” so it operated as a club with support from a sponsor. It's incredible to see how climbing programs in our area have grown! Today 15–20 high schools are involved with over 250 yearly participants! Many of these young climbers have gone on to become excellent climbers indoors and out, competing successfully in regional and national competitions.
